LIFE UNDER CONSTRUCTION PROJECT

(L.U.C.)

VISION:
The LIFE UNDER CONSTRUCTION PROJECT will recycle positive energy and influence, combined with the caring and education needed to remodel an individual, a family, and a neighborhood to re-form a community. Mentors, Educators, Organizers, Outreach Workers, and Advocates will have a wise understanding of how to reach out, comfort, and develop each individual young adult and their families. We will teach them to embrace their lives and value themselves and others each and every day through empowerment!

MISSION:
LIFE UNDER CONSTRUCTION PROJECT (L.U.C.) is a Revolving Door Neighborhood based program run by youth who care for you. Committed to the revitalization of the livelihood of young individuals and the neighborhoods in which they live.

OBJECTIVES: The LIFE UNDER CONSTRUCTION PROJECT (L.U.C.)

  • Give support to both youth and their families by teaching and role-modeling strong, wholesome moral values and accountability
  • Address the family life, personal health, and educational needs of both young adults and their families.
  •  Teach principles and methods of achieving mutual respect to both Parents and their youth.
  •  Reach out to families and neighborhoods of socially, economically and educationally challenged youth ages of 12 and up, offering support and assistance in becoming knowledgeable, responsible, contributing, and successful men and women.
  •  Teach young adults through mentorship and education to become entrepreneurs; develop business, and achieve Home Ownership with support and confidence.
  • To employ young adults with onsite apprenticeships while simultaneously providing hands on training in skilled trades and encourage and support the pursuit of certifications.

PROJECT SCOPE:
The LIFE UNDER CONSTRUCTION PROJECT (L.U.C.) is a Revolving Door program that refers to a situation in which the same events or instances reoccur in a continuous cycle.

We first lay the foundation by supporting our youth and their family’s home life through providing Health and Social resources, on the job training, and employment opportunities through our partnerships and network systems.  We will also educate in the process of becoming successful Home/Business Owners. We then construct and support an education and job training plan for the young adult, in partnership with their parent or guardian.  We market and encourage the “Plan” of post education (college) and/ or a pursuit for Certification in Trade, or Apprenticeship with the end goal of Business Ownership. Our goal is to remodel our youth’s life plan while they help to re-construct their Neighborhoods and role-model how Love and Unity develops Community!

Our capacity as General Contractors will allow us to employ, train, and mentor the young adults within the community in which they live. In partnership with Community Based Organizations (CBO) and Community Housing Development Organizations (CHDO), we can focus on renovating and refurbishing homes to full value in an effort to provide Quality and Green Built efficient housing.

REACH OUT PLAN:
The LIFE UNDER CONSTRUCTION PROJECT Reach Out workers will be expected to conduct themselves as role-models by presenting themselves in a professional, respectful, non-threatening, and supportive manner.  L.U.C. Reach Out workers will work closely with individuals in the Greater and Metro Atlanta Neighborhoods through tried and proven ground breaking techniques, such as:
- Door to Door introduction and invitations for the community to either host or attend Brainstorming or Orientation sessions to create and implement L.U.C. Projects in their neighborhood.
- Referral and Funnel systems with the Departments of Transitional Assistance, Youth and Family Social Services, Parenting Groups, Shelters and Homeless Resource Centers, Schools and Alternative Education Department, Faith Based, and many other Community Based Organizations.
- Extend L.U.C. Networks to include, ''on-location'' training, seminars, and workshops at juvenile detention centers, group/foster homes, shelters, faith-based locations, and other community based organizations.
- Postal and electronic mailings to all neighborhood residents and supporters.
- Expressions of talents based on current topics in the form of plays, improv and musical performances.
-Neighborhood barbecues, positive block parties, and festive events to introduce the most effective technique, viz. Word Of Mouth.
